IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
Indian Institutes of Technology known popularly as IITs are institutions par excellence fostering quality education in the field of engineering and scientific research. These institutes were established through an Act of Parliament and had been given statutory powers to provide them liberty in their prime objectives. There are seven IITs at present Mumbai (Bombay), Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras (Chennai), Roorkee and eight other are proposed in Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Mandi, Patna, Punjab, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Indore.
Throughout since its inception IITs have created world class educational platforms and have dynamically sustained through internationally recognized research with its excellent infrastructural facilities and dedicated team work with competent people all around. Thus demand for admissions to its various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses is in great demand all over the country. Later it was decided that eligible candidates are provided a chance through a written test for admissions to IITs. Thus an examination conducted by IIT council, a joint drive for finding eligible and capable candidates was introduced known as joint entrance examination that is IIT, JEE.
First of all, lets talk about eligibility that is age of candidate is to be between 17 to22 years and then he/she should have passed 12th class under 10+2 pattern with science subjects with minimum 60% of marks and should have thorough knowledge of the subjects he/she has studied in his / her studies. To check abilities and capabilities of the candidates, IIT-JEE examination has been divided into two papers of 3 hours duration each. Both the papers have three sections each and divided into three sections of physics, chemistry and mathematics. The pattern of the whole examination is of objective type with multiple answers, reasoning based questions and assertions type questions. The correct answers are to be bubbled in separate answer sheet, which is evaluated on computer and the result is declared within 30-45 days of the examination.
